Cassiem Latief’s journey began from humble beginnings, working in a record store where he immersed himself in the sounds and culture of electronic music. Surrounded by vinyl and a constant stream of new releases, he developed a deep understanding of the genre and refined his ear for soulful and groove-driven sounds.

This early exposure laid the foundation for a career that would later see him performing across the national club circuit and building a loyal and ever-growing following.

Over the years, Cassiem has established himself as a skilled selector, delivering carefully curated DJ sets that blend deep house rhythms with soulful musical elements. His performances are known for their warm, immersive atmosphere—sets designed to connect people on the dance floor through rhythm, emotion, and shared musical experience.

Beyond the DJ booth, Cassiem Latief is also recognised as a co-founder of the influential “We House Sundays” movement, a Cape Town–based platform dedicated to celebrating deep and soulful house music. Through monthly events and large-scale outdoor gatherings, the movement has created a space where music lovers unite and where the spirit of house music culture thrives.

Alongside his DJ career, Cassiem has steadily developed his work as a music producer. His productions reflect his deep musical roots while embracing modern house music sensibilities, showcasing a sound that continues to evolve with each release. He has released music through several respected labels, including Magique Music, Nomadiq Music, Mo’House Music, and Garden Groove Music.
